Freelance Teaching Position | Medical Foundation Track | English-Speaking
The University of Medicine Neumarkt a.M. Campus Hamburg (UMFST-UMCH) offers a six-year, English-language degree program in Human Medicine in Hamburg.
For our Medical Foundation Track, we are looking for a Mathematics & Physics Teacher / Tutor (m/f/d) to prepare prospective medical students for their admission examination and the scientific requirements of their first year of medical school.
The Medical Foundation Track is a preparatory program designed for students transitioning from secondary school to university. The aim is to strengthen their fundamental knowledge in Mathematics and Physics and prepare them for a successful start in medical studies.
Mathematics: 6 teaching days / 30 teaching hours
Physics: 6 teaching days / 30 teaching hours
5 teaching hours per teaching day
Teaching language: English
Location: UMCH Campus Hamburg
Freelance / independent contractor position
Teaching scripts, presentations, exercises, and study materials are already available and can be adapted or expanded where appropriate.
Teach Mathematics and Physics in English
Prepare students for medical school admission requirements and first-year studies
Explain scientific concepts in a clear and accessible way
Conduct exercises, exam preparation, and final tests
Support students with questions and learning difficulties
Coordinate teaching content with the Medical Foundation Track team
Strong knowledge of Mathematics and/or Physics
Relevant degree or advanced studies in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Education, or a related field
Teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage
Very good written and spoken English
Ability to explain complex topics clearly to students transitioning from school to university
Patient, approachable, and confident in working with young adults
Enthusiasm for teaching and supporting prospective medical students

Previous university-level teaching experience is not required.
